Lodi is a city located in San Joaquin County, in the northern portion of California's Central Valley. Lodi features schools, shopping, entertainment, and parks. Lodi is best known for being a center of wine production (the "Zinfandel Capital of the World"). Woodbridge by Robert Mondavi. Mondavi grew up in Lodi, and Mondavi Winery is considered one of the most influential in the American wine industry. As of 2011, top three employers were Lodi Unified School District, Lodi Memorial Hospital and Pacific Coast Producers. Lodi is the birthplace of A&W Root Beer and A&W Restaurants established in 1919, which subsequently became one of the first franchised fast food restaurants.
